GUM Workbench by Metrodata GmbH
The latest version (June 1999 rev.1.2d) is available
of this commercial application that was originally named Evaluation
of Uncertainty and which is distributed by the Danish Technological
Institute.
As might be deduced from the title, its methodology is consistent
with the ISO Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement.
New Features include:
- Configurable to run with an English,
German, Danish or Italian interface, complete with HELP
- Support for Greek letters, superscripts
and subscripts in quantity names, descriptive texts and metrological
units
- Sorting of quantities in any order specified
by the user
- Enhanced facilities for linking together
GUM Workbench files via import of quantities
- Support for import of text associated
with an imported input quantity
- Support for user defined functions to
facilitate handling of complex mathematical model equations
- New built-in functions for conversion
between degrees and radians
- New built-in function for absolute value
- New observation method 'SUS' added to
bring the total number of methods supported to five
- Improved handling of mathematical and
numerical conflicts in the calculations
- Export to HTML format using the clipboard
or exporting to a file
- A new option to see the previous budget
table prior to recalculation
- Improved navigation and new buttons for
elegantly moving from one section of the software to the other
- The important equation field may now
be resized
- Addition of a summary report to complement
the full report
- Ability to print to US letter paper size
and landscape mode printing
This demo is complete except for the ability to save files or print/export
modified versions of the included example analyses. A full, 100-page
manual is freely available (even for this demo) in either Acrobat
format or hardcopy from the distributor.
