Variation
Statistical process control (SPC) should be
familiar to all metrologists, quality and manufacturing folk. Predicting
the service value of reference standards by regression analysis and
graphically illustrating historical performance using trend charts
is part of SPC, but there's more. Understanding measurement repeatability
or process variability leads to establishment of Control Limits which
are used to qualify the acceptability of deviant results.
This educational Windows® 3.1 SHAREWARE
program written by Steve Horn doesn't address a specific measurement
application but teaches SPC through a simple, practical experiment
which you control on your computer.
