Metrology Job Descriptions are No Joke
30 June 2006
What's the difference between a calibration technician, a calibration engineer and a metrologist?
No, it's not a joke from our Just for Fun section but the result of work done by the American Society for Quality to update the U.S. Department of Labor's occupational classifications for calibration-related jobs. The aim? To develop a wider understanding of this work, particularly amongst young people and thereby encourage their seeking training and employment in this (most important) sector.
Of course, these new definitions are also helpful to those already working in the calibration business. How do your tasks and responsibilities compare to those described? |
